Elder Conchfly crowned with a huge coral horn. Once partnered with a mate, they will rarely be seen alone. To pair with another is a base instinct, and one that brings some bugs great joy. I once sought similar union, but of my own mates none could match my lifespan.
Antecedentes
Mature specimens bearing immense coral horns; their Needolin echoes—‘We found each other… Together! Stronger!’—celebrate deep partnership. Conchflies mate for life; separation only by death. The Hunter’s Journal muses on pairing’s joy, offset by lifespan mismatches that deny lasting unions.
Eventos en el juego
Northwest Blasted Steps holds a pink conch-filled chamber. Entry seals doors as two Great Conchflies emerge—fight begins. Defeating one causes the survivor to mournfully flee into the background, ending the battle. Nuu later inspects the remains. The survivor relocates to Sands of Karak as ‘Raging Conchfly,’ driven by grief.
Comportamiento y tácticas
Open-in: both fly in from ceiling/floor, roar mid-arena, then burrow into opposite walls. Shared 400 HP; contact 2 Masks.
Patterns:
• Drill Dash: both burst from walls (horizontal/vertical), cross the arena, burrow into opposite walls. Sand pillars telegraph emerges.
• Conch Spit: one descends from a corner, hovers upper or drifts to ground, spits a conch diagonally (ricochets 3 times). After second bounce, the spitter burrows down while the partner Drill Dashes.
• Drill Slam: one emerges from a corner, sweeps horizontally, then burrows; partner either Drill Dashes or fires a single Conch Spit.
Tips: deflect conch projectiles to deal damage; corner-slide safe spot trivializes Spit/Slam (mind floor dashes). Focus one target to trigger retreat—shared HP means any damage progresses the end.
