Father of the Flame

Both sacred totem and living god to the Burning Bugs, this pyre houses an aged bug's remains—its design implying a willful wish for immolation, grimly fulfilled through combat. Needolin echoes—‘To meet you… Father…’ and ‘Feed us, free us! Burn bright!’—attest to their devotional fervor. Upon defeat, Burning Bugs across Wisp Thicket immolate themselves in apparent religious ecstasy, triggered by their deity’s destruction.

Found within a vast empty Bellhome at Wisp Thicket’s western end. Entering ignites lanterns across the colossal pyre and begins the fight. Victory awards the Wispfire Lantern, while all Burning Bugs in Wisp Thicket spontaneously self-immolate.

Unique multi-part destruction with no Silk gain from strikes; all attacks deal 2 Masks (1 with Magma Bell). Phase 1 – Dismemberment (400 HP total, 100/arm): Four arms (two low, two high) plus balloons grant access to upper limbs. Destroying each upper arm removes its balloon. Each arm houses a Wisp Lantern that spawns Wisps ever faster as arms fall. Phase 2 – Core (240 HP): Body ignites, exposing a central Wisp Lantern. • Ring of Fire: 4–5 waves of omnidirectional fireballs (some curved), followed by triple Wisp Summon, then repeats. • Final Immolation: On defeat, the lantern crashes and explodes massively. Tips: Avoid Witch/Cursed Crest (down-slash split halves effective damage on cages). Cogflies cannot target weak points. Magma Bell mitigates all fire. Melee grants no Silk—use Reserve Bind or Druid’s Eye. Reaper/Wanderer Crests ease pogo on cages. Lower parts: ground charge Needle Strike, dodge Wisps; leave lower body for last. Upper parts: Strike → Faydown Cloak → Strike fits spawn tempo. Delver’s Drill hits stationary cages hard; Clawline chains reach uppers faster; Thread Storm double-taps right cages with precision; Voltvessels column-damage from ground.
