Plasmified Zango

Assistant to Alchemist Zylotol—described as indolent, short, and slovenly—Zango died in the Wormways while planting Plasmium seeds per orders. Zylotol later remarks: ‘Before he went and died, my previous assistant seeded the warrens below with Plasmium buds.’ The Hunter’s Journal notes a grim irony: carelessness made his end ‘fair reward,’ yet Plasmium’s allure evokes sympathy. Reanimated by the very Plasmium he spread, Zango becomes a walking embodiment of his fatal error.

Initially seen as a corpse in the Wormways. In Act 3, when Plasmium transforms the tunnels, Zango reanimates and turns hostile—puppeteered by the substance he seeded.

Unique focus on regeneration and escalation. When not taking damage, regenerates 5 HP every ~0.75s, reversing phase thresholds unless sustained pressure is maintained. Base: shuffles forward, turning at edges. Below 950 HP: Plasmium Torrent—shakes and fires blob volleys left/right. Below 750 HP: faster shuffle and more/faster blobs. Below 500 HP: shuffle becomes Dash; blobs fastest/frequent. Below 250 HP: maximum speed/frequency. Needle Phial alternative: with ‘Advanced Alchemy’ Wish, extract Plasmified Blood to reduce max HP by 250 per extraction (persists between room transitions); four extractions kill without combat.
